You have met your soul mate, there is a diamond on your finger, and I bet you can see yourself lying on the beach on your honeymoon…..but first there is a wedding to plan, so where do you start.

The wedding of your dreams takes a lot of planning.  The average bride spends 250 hrs planning her wedding.  The secret is to get organised from the start.

Decide what is important to you both. Church or celebrant, small and intimate or invite everyone that you have ever known. What must you have and what can you do with out. Talk about is together and you will both have the wedding day of your dreams.

Set a budget. If you are saving for your wedding try to leave your selves some “fun money” it will be less stressful of haven’t completely missed out on things you enjoy.  If family members are contributing then make sure you are clear about how much money you are spending and who is in control. 

Make it clear to family what sort of day you want and where you want them to help that way you should avoid arguments.

Choose your Chief bridesmaid and best man wisely they are not only your support on the day, but also in the run up to the wedding.  Just because they are your best friend does not mean they are the best person for the job. 

Make a list and time lines if what you need to do and buy.  This is a simple thing but you would be surprised how many couples end up in a panic nearer the day when they realise what they haven’t done or forgotten.  This will also help you with setting and sticking to your budget

Lastly make time for you together as a couple. This is an important time in your lives but there are other things to share have time out from your planning to enjoy each other.
