The answers to these questions will determine the type of hat that is suitable for you.

Build.

Petite: If you have a small frame try not to choose a hat that overwhelms you. Look for hats with small brims and crowns, a big floppy hat with engulf you. Avoid busy patterns and garish colour combinations.

Tall: Dramatic wide brimmed hats are a lovely choice, fifties style characterised by a narrow flexible brim. A hat with a low crown and brim that skims the brow is an ideal accessory.

Curvy: If you are full figured a hat can be your best friend. Go girly all the way! Wide, full or floppy brimmed hats with vertical stripes add balance to curvy figures, so do not be afraid to make this choice.

Face shape.

Long: If you have a long narrow face it is most flattering to choose a hat with a substantial brim. Try a floppy, curled or brow skimming style. Keep the crown low and choose horizontal stripes or solid colours – but never bright floral or busy patterns.

Round: Those with round faces are best complimented with high brims and sharp angles. Hats with very wide, floppy brims should be avoided. Choose a hat with a crown and brim that is slightly wider than your head. Keep colours fairly muted and tasteful.

Oval: Woman with oval faces are truly bless in the hat choosing department since any style flatters. You can wear all the hottest trends. Show off your inner fashion diva.
